Abstract: This scholarly endeavor endeavors to illumine the intricate interplay between Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Research Methodology, proffering a comprehensive exploration of global trends and best practices. Drawing upon a rigorous review of extant literature, we critically analyze the transformative role of AI in shaping research paradigms and methodologies (Turing, 1936; McCarthy, Minsky, Rochester, & Shannon, 1955). This discourse underscores the relentless progression of AI in transmogrifying diverse sectors, ranging from healthcare and finance to environmental science, by harnessing the power of innovative research methodologies (Fisher, 1925; Samuel, 1959). Throughout, we highlight the myriad ways in which AI and research methodology have mutually enriched each other, fostering a paradigm shift towards data-driven decision-making, increased prediction precision, and rampant innovation (Bishop, 2006). In offering this scholarly contribution, our aim is to advance the understanding of the profound influence AI wields on research methodology, thereby proffering invaluable insights for academics, practitioners, and policymakers alike.
