Abstract: The southern Chotanagpur Division is a region of Jharkhand state in India, known for its rich natural resources, diverse flora and fauna, and cultural heritage. However, the region is facing several environmental challenges such as deforestation, soil erosion, water scarcity, and loss of biodiversity, which are threatening the sustainability of the region. This paper presents a review of 10 studies conducted in various parts of the world, focusing on the identification and study of factors contributing to the creation of a sustainable environment. The studies include field studies and surveys, and employ various methodologies to identify the key factors that contribute to sustainable development. The reviews highlight the importance of education, awareness, community involvement, policy support, technological advancement, and sustainable management of natural resources in achieving a sustainable environment. The reviews paper provides valuable insights for the identification and study of factors contributing to the creation of a sustainable environment in the southern Chotanagpur Division and can guide policy makers, researchers, and practitioners towards achieving sustainable development in the region.
