Abstract: This Abstract highlights the GDPR's important role in shaping data protection practices within the EU and its broader implications for data governance. The GDPR harmonizes data protection laws across EU, establishing comprehensive guidelines for the collection, processing, storage, and transfer of personal data. The GDPR directs significant penalties for non-compliance, thereby reinforcing the importance of adhering to data protection standards. Additionally the GDPR also validates the principles of lawfulness, fairness, transparency, and accountability in the processing of personal data.
