Abstract: Even though it was legal in India for women to be included in the educational system, there were several barriers that prevented women from participating. Women are one of the social categories that are excluded from education as a technology and tool for social transformation in the modern period. The social phenomenon of exclusion naturally tends to prevent the reestablishment of human beings' inherent capacities for adaptation and success. Both academically and strategically, it is crucial to have a basic awareness of the historical environment in which women evolved in order to successfully enter and remain in the contemporary educational system. The current study is primarily concerned with the entry of women into the teaching profession, particularly in Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka
