Abstract: This qualitative study explores the ethical dilemmas faced by laboratory specialists in a tertiary hospital setting. Through in-depth interviews with 15 laboratory professionals, four key themes emerged: handling diagnostic errors, managing patient confidentiality, navigating sensitive test results, and the lack of institutional support for ethical decision-making. Participants reported significant challenges in balancing professional responsibilities with ethical obligations, often citing unclear guidelines and fear of repercussions as barriers to transparent decision-making. The study highlights the need for structured ethical frameworks, regular ethics training, and the establishment of ethics committees to support laboratory specialists in navigating complex ethical scenarios. These findings underscore the importance of institutional support in promoting ethical practices within clinical laboratories.
