Abstract: This qualitative study explores the experiences of hematology patients undergoing long-term blood transfusion therapy and its impact on their daily lives, mental health, and social interactions. Semi-structured interviews with 15 patients in a tertiary hospital revealed key themes: disruption of daily routines, psychological burden from dependence on transfusions, and social isolation. Participants highlighted the challenges of balancing treatment with work, education, and personal responsibilities, as well as the emotional strain of chronic illness. Strong family support and healthcare provider relationships were identified as crucial coping mechanisms. The findings underscore the need for holistic care, integrating both medical and psychological support for long-term transfusion patients.

Keywords: Long-term blood transfusion, hematology patients, psychological burden, social isolation, qualitative study, patient experiences, healthcare support
