Abstract: This study looks at how laboratory testing helps improve medication management in the emergency department (ED) through a combination of data analysis and interviews. We analyzed 300 patient cases and found that using lab tests to guide medication adjustments significantly lowered the number of adverse drug reactions, reduced the time patients spent in the ED, and cut down on medication errors. Interviews with laboratory specialists and pharmacists highlighted the value of teamwork in improving patient safety and making well-informed decisions, despite some challenges like communication delays and workflow issues. Overall, the results show how important it is to have timely lab information and collaboration between professionals to make better medication decisions and improve patient outcomes in the ED. Future research should focus on overcoming barriers to seamless teamwork and expanding these findings to other healthcare settings.
