Abstract: The study critically looks at the evolution of the legal standards relating to digital accessibility. Its international framework, laws, compliance requirements, mechanisms for enforcement, and future development are also reviewed. This is due to the increased digitization of the world economy and heightened demands for equal access by persons with disabilities to content and services in the digital domain. Best practices, current legislation and the issues organizations face are examined through this research to drive the point of establishing a unified international standard to facilitate equal opportunities in the digital platform.
