Abstract: As businesses increasingly migrate their SAP systems to the cloud, SAP Basis administrators face a new set of challenges surrounding security and compliance. The cloud offers significant benefits such as scalability, flexibility, and cost savings, but it also introduces risks related to data privacy, system integrity, and regulatory adherence. This paper explores the security and compliance considerations critical for SAP Basis in cloud environments, focusing on the architecture, risks, controls, and best practices that organizations must implement to safeguard their SAP applications. The study highlights cloud-specific vulnerabilities and the role of SAP Basis in ensuring secure, compliant, and efficient operation of cloud-hosted SAP systems.
