Abstract: This study explores the pivotal role of restaurants in mixed-use developments, focusing on their ability to enhance community engagement, drive economic growth, and contribute to urban revitalization. Using Bridgeport in Suffolk, VA, as a case study, it highlights how diverse dining establishments such as La Parrilla Mexican Grill, Fin & Tonic, Amedeo's Italian Restaurant and Bakery, Sojourn Fermentory, Knotts Coffee Company, Westside Burger, and The Silos Bar shape the identity and success of the development. Strategic planning, synergy with tenants, and tailored infrastructure demonstrate the critical integration of restaurants in fostering vibrant and sustainable communities.
