Abstract: Contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN) is a serious complication associated with the use of iodinated contrast media during imaging procedures, particularly in patients with pre-existing renal conditions. This study aimed to evaluate the impact of CIN prevention protocols in a tertiary hospital setting, focusing on a multidisciplinary approach involving pharmacists, nurses, and CT technologists. A retrospective cohort design was used to analyze 350 patients who underwent contrast-enhanced imaging. Findings showed that 21.4% of patients developed CIN, with significant associations observed between CIN incidence and factors such as older age, diabetes, hypertension, higher contrast volume, and lower baseline renal function. The study highlights the importance of strict adherence to prevention protocols and emphasizes the role of a multidisciplinary team in optimizing patient outcomes. Future research should focus on improving protocol adherence and exploring additional preventive measures to reduce CIN incidence.
